Best of North Shore Custom Homes

We were so honored and humbled to be named Editors’ Choice for Custom Home Builder and Readers’ Choice for Renovations in the first annual Best of North Shore (BONS) Home Awards sponsored by Northshore Home Magazine. Thank you to everyone who voted for us as their favorite builder! For close to 20 years, our focus has been on creating a building company that offers North Shore families a reliable, quality driven, caring resource for their home construction projects. So, it is very gratifying to be acknowledged with these recognitions, and a great excuse to update you on some of our recent custom home projects which led to these amazing accolades.

Custom Home #1: Under Construction

Currently under construction is the shingle style home, designed by TMS Architects, that we featured in our enews last winter.  It’s come a long way since then! Check out this video filmed by the homeowner’s teenage son.

Custom Home #2: Completed

Another custom home we built in 2014, an artistic Timberpeg post & beam, was just featured on the cover of the Fall issue of Arts & Crafts Homes. The magazine titled the article “Ultimate Timber” and said “Inspired by Greene and Greene, fine woodwork in mahogany enhances an elegantly rustic timber-frame house in the woods.”

Our favorite feature of this home is the custom designed front entry, “a symphony of stained glass and mahogany”, by stained glass artist, Louis Pulzetti of Emmet’s Hill Wood & Glass. It features a blooming magnolia tree created with 14,000 pieces of glass, each outlined in copper foil, and surrounded by mahogany doors built by the homeowner.

The complexity and beauty of the exposed Douglas Fir frame can be seen throughout the home. As the homeowner stated “We love this house..It’s so warm, and at night it glows. All the wood makes me feel good.”
